All That Glitters is Not Gold on My Rhymes and Reasons 9.12
All That Glitters is Not Gold
All that glitters is not gold. You’ve heard that before.
Hi, it’s Greg Asimakoupoulos, with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons.
You know, that expression came to mind as I looked at this seemingly beautiful scene in the sky, a morning sun enveloped by evergreen trees.
Looking up from my neighborhood. But it also calls to mind Proverbs 14:12 where we read, “There is a way that seems right unto man, but the end thereof is the way of death.”
Interesting things to think about on a beautiful day like today. What seems to glitter like gold often is not. What seems the way to go isn’t necessarily so. You see, the reason that this sun is visible to the naked eye without there being any damage of harm done to my retina is because of the smoke in the area. We have wildfires that are burning up and down the West Coast on this day that I record this.
Some in eastern Washington, some in Oregon, many in California. (You can pick the rest up at marker 1:35 on the video above).
