Snoqualmie Falls, Washington, Faith is a Gift with Greg Asimakoupoulos
Greg Asimakoupoulos here again from Snoqualmie Falls, just outside of Northbend, the North Bend of the Snoqualmie Falls River, just east of Preston, which is Issaquah, just east of Mercer Island, 10 miles away from where I currently am. It’s a fantastic part of Washington, and it’s glorious today.
As I indicated yesterday, I want to talk about Twin Falls. No, not Twin Falls, Idaho, although that is the place I was born in Moscow, Idaho. Famous for potatoes just outside Leon and Laway, where my dad grew up, but I’m not talking about Idaho today; I’m talking about the Twin Falls we see before us.
Today, you would see this little water flowing over the falls only in the winter and some arid, dry summer months. But today, it allows me to talk about the twin nature of faith and work. James tells us that little Epistle of James that Martin Luther had trouble fully accepting as part of the Canon of Scripture because he thought that maybe James was airing on the side of what we do as opposed to what we receive.
Last week, we talked a lot about faith being a gift that cannot be earned and that the good work of doing the best comes from an assurance of what we have experienced through simple faith, just like a bowing plane requires two. You can hear more about it in the video above.
