Be the Best Person We Can Be-Daily Meditation 9.5.22
Today’s quotation:
As simple as it sounds, we all must try to be the best person we can be: by making the best choices, and by making the most of the talents we’ve been given.-
Mary Lou Retton
Today’s Meditation:
Being the best we can be isn’t as difficult as many people make it sound. After all, we can show the best of ourselves in almost all of the decisions that we make, in the choices that we make. And many of our choices have to do with whether or not we’re going to use our God-given talents to their greatest potential, or if we’re going to allow them to lie latent, unused, or untapped.
Today I’m going to choose or react. I can choose the way I speak to people, the tone of voice I use, the tasks that I’ll undertake, the amount of time I rest, and the face that I show to the world at any given moment. Or I can choose simply to react, to allow other people’s words and actions to cause me to act in certain ways. If I choose the latter set of choices, though, I can guarantee you that the best of me will not be shining through.
Do I choose to do the same things I’ve always done, or do I choose to spread my wings a bit and take a bit of a risk in order to explore the extent of my abilities? Do I choose at each moment to try to show the best side of myself? Do I choose to make the best choices, or do I allow just any old choice to become my action?
We all can grow towards becoming the best people we can be, and the only way to do so is to pay attention to the choices we’re making–and to the fact that we’re making choices at all. Only then can we truly try to become the best people we possibly can be?
Questions to consider:
Do you constantly try to be the best person you can be?
What kinds of choices will you make today? How will you decide which choices to follow?
What are your strongest talents? Do you use them regularly?
