Belleview Community Park with Greg

Hey, it’s Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons from Belleview Community Park where every year on this the last Sunday of August, 20 churches on the east side of Seattle gather together. Even though I’m wearing my Mariners jersey, it’s symbolic of the fact that we in Seattle are all Mariner fans.

Well, most of us we are part of the same team. Today we are one in Christ, one in the spirit, one in the Lord. We have gathered together in this setting to celebrate our faith. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of Christians from greater Seattle that have come together as a witness to the fact that we are united in Christ. There are many things that might divide us in terms of politics or culture, but when it comes to our faith, we are one in Christ.

As I think of this gathering that our family is part of every year and many of you who watch have heard of, I’m reminded of a verse in scripture, Isaiah 51:11, where the people of God would sing together as they return to Jerusalem.

Therefore, the redeemed of the Lord shall return and come with singing unto Zion.

If you missed our last My Rhymes and Reasons post, it is here.
