This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. The psalmist’s words quoted and requeued over and over again. When he first wrote those words in Hebrew 3,000 years ago, he could not have imagined that they would have been quoted in English here at Lake Chalan on this late summer day.

As the day breaks here at Lake Chalen, I don’t know where it is breaking where you are, but not to fear. Broken sunrises result in shards of joy, especially if you are sharing that magical moment with someone near you.
There is a billboard at SeaTac airport that I recently saw. It pictures two people and a sunset. Basically what the inscription on the billboard indicates is that a shared joy is a doubled joy. Some moments are meant to be shared.
