Do you remember Footprints in the Sand?

It’s a Thursday. Greg is here once again from Newport Beach, California, drinking in the beauty of this incredible atmosphere of ocean, sand, ocean fowl, surging surf, and Glorious views. These views are an expression of God’s power.

Footprints in the Sand

As I look down the beach and notice people walking the beach, I’m thinking about that poem that was quite popular 30 years ago or so. Do you remember “Footprints in the Sand?”

A man dreamed he was walking with the Lord side by side. He noticed that he was joyful, knowing that the Lord was at his side and that he was experiencing life with his creator and maker. Then he noticed that during the most difficult times in his life, instead of two sets of footprints in the sand, there was only one set of footprints.

This was very disillusioning to the man. So he asked the Lord why, in the world, in the times of my life when I was experiencing sorrow, suffering, and difficulty, I had to experience that all by myself. Where were you? Why did you leave me? Do you remember what the Lord said?

I love you, my child. During those times of hardship, when you thought you couldn’t handle life alone, you weren’t alone. There is only one set of footprints because those are my footprints. That’s when I was carrying you. You can hear more about it in the video above.
