From the Harbor in Amsterdam the Netherlands 7.9.25
It’s Greg Asimakoupoulos, with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons once again from the harbor in Amsterdam the Netherlands. As I looked out the window from our cruise ship i saw three individuals doing their job as this ship prepares to welcome new passengers for the reverse itinerary from which Wendy and I recently concluded our river cruise.
I’m reminded of the passage in which Saint Paul talks about one being one who waters another who plants another who harvests as these individuals are doing
their work one sprays the water on the window, the other with a soapy brush comes to clean the window and then finally the third individual with a squeegee comes to clean the window entirely.
What a great illustration of what it is to find our individual gift, and to invest it in the work of the kingdom. We are told in 1 Corinthians, 12- 11:28, Corinthians 14, Ephesians- Chapter 4, that we are gifted uniquely with gifts and abilities for the working and the manifestation of the church as a family that cooperates each finding our unique gifting our ability. Such that the body of Christ can function as a body.
Wonderful illustrations from the harbor here in Amsterdam not far from where Corey Tenboom, and her family cooperated in hiding jews during the Nazi
occupation of holland and that story as Wendy and i prepare to visit the community in which Corey and her sister and her father lived harboring Jews before being captured. To hear more about from the harbor of Amsterdam the Netherlands, listen to the video above.
