Front Street in Issaquah WA with My Rhymes and Reasons 3.19
Visiting Front Street in Issaquah WA Today 3.19.2025
Hey welcome to today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons from Front Street in Issaquah WA. It’s about 20 minutes from where I live heading East towards Snowwy Pass. A little village of Isqua situated against the mountain’s beautiful setting.
I’m captivated by this Old Shell gas station, it looks like it’s operational, but it’s not. I’m going to talk about this with you today as we begin our day. Looking up we might look forward with a sense of God’s presence as we discover just what today will bring. A filling station is much like a church. Have you thought of it that way?
Even when you go to church on Sundays, some of you go on Saturday nights, but when you go for weekly worship you’re going to be filled up right it’s as though you are entering into a filling station to be energized and to find yourself taking in that which you need to make it through the rest of the week I think a filling station a service station is a great metaphor for a church that is based on God’s word.
The preaching is based on God’s word, but this filling station is the only avenue in Isqua they maintain it like it used to be. I’ll walk to show you some of the pumps you can’t get gas from this gas station anymore it’s just a museum and I’m looking to see back when the gas was 26 4/10 a gallon that was for super shell regular shell well this was from a different time because it’s 67 and 910 C this filling station is used for community events it says it’s a museum…
