Walking Through Pioneer Park on Mercer Island is an Adventure
Greg Asimakoupoulos with another edition of My Rhymes and Reasons.
Walking through Pioneer Park on Mercer Island is an adventure. I never know what I’m going to find. Often I look at the ground and I see a leaf. Do you see the profile of a face? Don’t know if it’s an animal. Probably so more than a human face. But that’s not the only thing I found today. I found a fallen tree.
This is something that I’ve been anticipating for a while. You see the stump here has a number on it. The number is 1924.
That has nothing to do with when the tree began to grow. That’s just the number that they tagged this tree anticipating that it would have to come down. Actually, a few months ago, I reported this tree to the city of Mercer Island, the parks and recreation division because of what I saw going on.
Notice the bark or the lack of bark on this tree decaying. See all this? It was just coming apart. You can continue on the video at the timestamp 1:20 or just start the video at the beginning.
