Graceland, Historic Home of Elvis in Memphis

Join Greg as he talks about the historic home of Elvis in Memphis called Graceland.

It’s Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. Still in Central Florida, one of my favorite street signs is here in the neighborhood where my brother-in-law and his wife live in Sarasota.

Graceland. It’s kind of a play on words. You know, I think of Graceland, that historic home of Elvis in Memphis, but this is Graceland. It prompts a thought just for today. As we think of grace, as we think of grace, here’s the thought.

You know, on Sundays, folks gather in churches all across the country. And for many, it is their one-stop shopping. It’s their opportunity to kind of dip in and taste of grace that would last them through the week.

A little bit of worship music, a little bit of a message based on the word of God, and a little bit of fellowship with a cup of coffee in hand either before or following the service.

That’s what I would call nibbling at grace. We are called to graze on grace to be nourished in our faith by daily coming before the Lord and in a atmosphere of quiet contemplation, reflection, meditation, taking a few verses of scripture and allowing those words of God’s word to become nourishment to our faith.

If you missed our last My Rhymes and Reasons post, it is here.
