Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course

Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. Greeting you today from Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course here in Fall City. Not far from Snoqualmie Falls where I often record these devotional podcasts. On this the day after Father’s Day I thought it’d be appropriate to reflect upon dad’s fathers. For many of you your dad has been in heaven for many years. For others of you live at a distance from your dad. I know that if you had opportunity to honor him yesterday. If not in person, in memory or by phone text, FaceTime, you name it, you will have done that.

Of course my heart is filled with memories of my dad. My dad passed away on November the 4th 2008 just after midnight after a 14-year battle with prostate cancer. It was a red letter day .My dad’s death. It was the day that our nation elected its first black president to inhabit the White House. The day that Obama was elected friends of mine have written a book called, “When Your Father Dies.” I wonder if you can recall the date of your father’s death. Those of you who no longer have a dad, this book was written by friends of mine Dave Verman and Bruce Barton with whom I had the privilege of working with when we lived in Illinois.

I would do some freelance writing for the Living Stone Corporation which these guys owned and operated. They’re the ones that did the Life Application Study Bible Some of you have been enriched in your faith with that wonderful version of of God’s word. But this book especially written for men because you know men deal with their father’s death uniquely from women. How a man deals with the loss of his father is the subtitle.. You can listen to the rest in the video above.
