It’s in honor of the cycle mates. Hey, it’s Greg, and it’s the 5th of July. It’s the day after Uncle Sam’s birthday, and I’m still celebrating America with this beautiful statue here on Mercer Island.
I don’t know if you can read what it says here on the foundation stone, but it says, “Each summer between 1969 and 1993, Fran Call organized and led groups of 15 of her Mercer Island Junior High Students on long-distance adventures four times bicycling across the continent traveling an average of 85 miles a day without a support vehicle…You can listen to more of it in the video above.
