Spectacular Cruise Through the Inside Passage of Southeast Alaska with the Busseys 10.4.24

Hey, it’s Friday. We’ve reached the end of another week on our cruise through the inside passage of Southeast Alaska, and what a week it’s been. On the day I’m recording this, it’s our final day on a spectacular cruise through the Inside Passage of Southeast Alaska with Mike and Marsha Bussey. We did this seven years ago. Yeah, you were with Wendy and me when we were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. We thought we’d do it again, so it’s been a great trip.

Mike, as we talked this week, sharing meals and seeing beautiful scenery, we found some common ground in our careers—unexpected unemployment, where various causes terminated jobs that we loved. At least twice in my life, I have worked jobs that I felt passionate about and was deeply fulfilled doing. However, there were changes in management or funding that fell away, and so I found myself having to find a new assignment at the time.

I wasn’t quite sure what that would develop into. I was, I guess, struggling with my ability to trust God for what was next, and you shared that there was something similar to that in your life. Would you describe that a bit better? Thank you, Greg. I think anytime you’ve lived and worked as long as we have, I think we’re into the fourth decade or more about that, there are times that change and careers change. It’s not always kind of an art timing.

Still, I’ve often thought it was God’s timing, as awkward as it might be, or it seems at the time. I have had times where, unexpectedly, I’ve had to change jobs or my job has been changed for me, but in looking back, I’ve always lived with the thought that I’m on a faith Journey. Hear more about the end of their last week on their journey on their inside passage of Southeast Alaska in the video message above.
