It makes me think of a couple of people that I knew earlier in my life, both in my childhood.
Lily Zalis was a classmate at Liberty Elementary School in Marysville and Pearl Yachos was the soda fountain attendant at the Owl Drugstore soda fountain in Wanachi. This is where I consider my hometown. It’s where we moved when I was 12.
Lily and Pearl. Not the most common names, but I’m sure you’ve known some Lilys in your life, some Pearls in your life. I even had a distant cousin by the name of Pearl.
So, familiar names, names that are not unassociated with scripture. Today on our devotional time together, I’d like to recall what is recorded in the Song of Solomon Chapter 2 verse 1. Where we are told of the lily of the valley. The lily of the valley that is what the bride refers to herself.
