Art in Our Living Room Painted by a Dear Friend Owen Hall

Today’s edition is about this art in our living room painted by dear friend Owen Hall.

Hey it’s Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. This art hangs in our living room painted by dear friend of mine who lived at Covenant Shores when I was chaplain. Owen Hall dented my life for good in the years that I got to know him and hear his faith story. Yesterday, we talked about faith stories and verbalizing our faith journeys to those people in our lives friends, family members, especially the next generations that they might know how we came to know Christ as Lord and Savior in our lives and the difference that he has made in our lives.

I like this because even though it was painted to represent Owen and his wife Dorothy, I see Wendy and me. We have a tradition each week of walking together in a forest preserve near our home side by side. And in our walks we reflect on life. We talk about challenges related to our family our kids our grandkids. We talk about the future what the Lord has in store for us. We enjoy walking through Island Park and Pioneer Park on a regular basis four times a week. In fact and it’s a very special part of our life.

When Owen painted this and representing himself and his wife he was picturing walking into the glory of God’s kingdom. That’s why it’s kind of a white light. He anticipated the day that they would be walking together in the presence of the Lord in Heaven.
