Medieval Clock Tower to Strike 6:00 a.m. in Luthern, Switzerland
It’s Greg Asimakoupoulos with another edition of My Rhymes and Reasons from Luthern. It’s at the break of day in fact I’m waiting for the medieval clock tower to strike 6:00 a.m. Momentarily you’ll hear the bells that for well probably some 600 years have been awakening the town here. The wooden covered bridge, which is the signature iconic picture of this most picturesque community at the start of this day.
I don’t know what it is that wakes you up. Is it an old fashioned alarm clock? Is it your digital assistant? Be it Alexa or Siri? could it be your iPhone alarm? Let’s listen to the bells as they call attention to the dawn of a new day, and the birds as well.
Join the action they too recognize the gift of a new day.
This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.
I know that’s one of the most common calls to worship on a Sunday morning. I remember when Robert Schuler at the Crystal Cathedral would welcome his Hour of Power listeners Sunday after Sunday. If you would like to hear more, you can listen on the above video.
