Mental Attitude-Daily Meditation-9.14.23
Today’s quotation:
Your mental attitude is something you can control outright, and you must use self-discipline until you create a Positive Mental Attitude–your mental attitude attracts to you everything that makes you what you are.-Napoleon Hill
Today’s Meditation:
I always saw attitude as an effect rather than a cause when I was younger. Life throws good things at you: a positive attitude. Life walked all over you: negative attitude. As I grow older and older, though, I realize that life itself isn’t the causal agent here–our attitudes actually cause our life situations and many people who haven’t figured this out continue to cause extremely negative things to happen to them. They choose to blame life for this reality rather than look at the true culprit. After all, why would we cause bad things to happen to ourselves?
The truth is, of course, that we usually don’t do so on purpose. But many things we actually do in life aren’t done on purpose, and the ways we can cause negative things to happen in our lives are no exception. When we have a negative attitude, we attract other people with negative attitudes and situations that may seem like coincidental but are far from coincidental.
Do you want to stop sabotaging yourself? They start thinking positively about positive things and attract to themselves the positive elements and people of life. Act in the ways that you would like to be treated start looking at the world in ways that will allow you to see and appreciate the beauty and wonder, and focus on the positive aspects of your life rather than the negative. This shift in attitude can change your life in highly significant ways.
Of course, bad things will still happen. But you don’t have to look at them as if your life is full of nasty things. Accept them, understand why they happened, learn from them, and move on. You can shape the rest of your life by the attitude you bring to the rest of your life, and it’s possible to make it a beautiful experience.
Questions to consider:
Why do so few people act as if their attitudes are always results rather than causes?
What kinds of changes might a shift to a positive perspective bring?
Do you enjoy being around people who lift you or those who bring you down? What kind of person are you to others?

When you choose to be pleasant and positive in how you treat others, you have also chosen, in most cases, how others will treat you. -Zig Ziglar
