Join Greg today while he speaks about King Herod’s Temple.
It’s a Wednesday. Greetings! Hey, I’m Greg, with today’s edition of my Rhymes and Reasons. We’re still at the deconstruction site here on Mercer Island, as buildings are coming down to make way for new buildings. In the background, you can see King Insurance. King Insurance was located in that building right next to the Chinese restaurant and, appropriately, right next to Queen Nails.
Well, as I look at King’s Insurance, I’m thinking of something very familiar to you if you’re a student of the Bible. In Matthew, Chapter 24, we find Jesus and the disciples leaving the Temple Mount, and the disciples are overwhelmed by the beauty of King Herod’s Temple. You know Herod rebuilt Solomon’s Temple after its destruction, and it was a sight to behold.
Herod spent years rebuilding that incredible Temple, of course. Solomon’s was one of the wonders of the world, and Herod did his best to replicate the foundation stones of Herod’s Temple. You can hear more in the video above.
