Olympic Moments 2024 with Greg 7.29.24-My Rhymes and Reasons
Olympic Moments 2024 with Greg. It’s Monday. It’s Greg with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. As you might expect, this week, we’re going to focus on some Olympic moments. I thought I’d begin, though, with this globe. It’s on a vehicle parked in front of our home.
Actually, it belongs to our future son-in-law. This coming Sunday, our daughter Lauren will be wed to Spencer Scott Moore, and Scotty is an apprentice journeyman who works in train heating and air conditioning. He sometimes parks his truck here in front of our home. This image of the world globe takes me as we think about the Olympics this week. Some 200 nations are gathered in Paris to compete, and it’s a picture of the world coming together. I know I’ve described this before in previous broadcasts with you.
As we look up, we might look forward with a bit more meaning and intentionality with a view toward God’s desire that our lives matter daily. In these previous broadcasts, when I’ve talked about the Olympics, I’ve talked about it being a foretaste of what’s to come in Revelation 7:9. We have this poetic but very beautiful picture of the nations of the world, every tribe, every language, every color of skin. People of all the world coming together in one place, and there, of course, in Revelation Chapter 7 that “Gathering is to worship the Living God”.
As we view the events of the Olympics this week and as we have an opportunity to cheer for the USA. I will be I hope you will be as well and our neighbors to the North in Canada. I hope that you have a picture of the wider perspective of that day when, indeed, the world will come together in peace… For more, listen to the video above.
