Psalm 90-90th Psalm Today with Greg A
Today’s episode is about Psalm 90-90th Psalm in Greg’s backyard. I hope you enjoy.
Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. I didn’t have to go very far for today’s podcast. Just to the backyard. The light on the trees on the greenery the shrubbery. It was so awe inspiring that I thought what a beautiful spot to record a little devotional that relates to Psalm 90-90th Psalm. When’s the last time you read it?
You know it’s the only Psalm that we have record that Moses wrote maybe you didn’t even realize that Moses wrote a Psalm we typically think of David as being the contributor to the psalter and indeed he was he wrote most of the psalms that we claim as the Hymnal of God’s people.
There in the central part of our Bible and it’s in the center of our Bible for a reason the psalms intersect our lives more than any other genre of scripture because they cover the emotions of human life they offer us a vocabulary of praise when words fall short and we can’t think of words that are adequate to express our worship and devotion to the Lord.
They are a real help in terms of confessing our short fallings and shortcomings and our sin. We find in the psalter words that give us the means to acknowledge what we know in our hearts is true. What we know God already knows, but there is a cleansing that takes place when we find words that allow us to confess our sin.
The Psalms are also a great way of recognizing that ancient people of God have dealt with some of the same difficult circumstances that we find ourselves dealing with.
