Lake Chelan Washington, Our Family Cottage on the Lake and R n’ R

Hey it’s Greg Asimakoupoulos, with another edition of My Rhymes and Reasons from Lake Chelan, Washington. Our family has a cottage on the lake and we love to come over this time of the year. Break away for a few days of R n’ R. Yes, even in retirement you need some R n’ R. If you’re like, I am in retirement is more like retirement it isn’t just kicking back and doing nothing. It’s finding new and creative ways to invest yourself in what you feel called to do.

For me it’s writing newspaper and magazine articles. Creating daily video devotionals like this for you. Today I’m captured by this water tower here just above Lake Chelan. It’s an apple label like sign, kind of like those signs before there were billboards advertisers would advertise on the side of buildings. We still see that remnants of those kinds of advertising.

Don’t we? As we drive through little towns off the grid and they’re often, it’s ghost signs because the paint has faded and you can barely make out what used to be there on the side of a building. But we know if we look carefully what it is that the advertisers were calling attention to. Well here is a water tower with a apple label like sign apple labels in this part of the country are still being used as apples.

Apples are marketed around the world mostly digitally communicated these days. They used to be on sides of wooden boxes then cardboard boxes. You can hear more on the video above.
