Hey, it’s Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. Yesterday I was sitting at the piano of my friend, Steve Stewart here in his home. Today we’re in his office, which is like a museum. I love coming into your office to see your life on display.


Mhm. But some of you have seen the episode of My Rhymes and Reasons where Timothy Bots was my guest and we talked about a book that we recently collaborated on. It’s a sketchbook for word pictures and it’s called My Rhymes and Reasons now available online.

But Steve, it was you and Carla 35 years ago that are responsible for how this book came to be. Let me explain why. If you open up the book, here is an illustration in the book of Wind Songs, which is a coffee table book that you and Carla gave to Wendy and me for our anniversary.

I think it was like our 8th anniversary. You came over to our home, offered to babysit our little girls, and we went out for dinner, and you gave us that book by Tim Bots. That was the beginning of my appreciation of Tim’s artistic ability through calligraphy.

Within five years, when we moved to Chicago, I determined that I was going to meet Tim. Indeed, we became very good friends and have worked on various projects together through the years and just this last year did this book together which is dedicated to you and Carla.

Well, that’s just a little promo for the book. But what I really want to do today is just talk about friendship.
