Cologne Cathedral in Cologne Germany on Today’s My Rhymes My Reasons
Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. Coming to you once again from the Cologne Cathedral in Cologne Germany. As I take a wide view of the ceiling of this amazing sanctuary.
A church that took over 600 years to complete which begun in 1248. Just drink in the magnificent beauty of only a portion of what you see and the scripture that comes to mind today is Romans, Chapter 11. The tail end of the chapter, where Paul writes,
“Oh the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God how unsearchable are his judgments how inscribable his ways for who has known the mind of the Lord or who has been his counselor or who has given him a gift that he might be repaid for from him and to him and through him are all things to him be honor and glory forever and ever, amen.
The purpose of cathedrals in medieval times, ancient times was to create something that would lift the human spirit towards Heaven, as I focus now towards the front of the church. Here you can see the immense beauty, but you can experience the vertical dimension of being lifted heavenward… Listen in on the video above to hear the rest of what Greg has to share with you.
