It’s Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. Todays recording from Fair Haven Cemetery, Orange County California. It was 60 years ago that a young pastor by the name of Chuck Smith started a movement. It was a gathering of 25 people that met in his home. That gathering became Calvary Chapel.

Now there are over a thousand congregations within the United States and hundreds internationally. Calvary Chapel, it started in Costa Mesa, California. If you saw the movie a few years ago called, ‘The Jesus Revolution’ that documents the story of Greg Lori.

Where I am standing here in this Santa Ana Cemetery is within the shadow of Angel Stadium. That is where Greg Lori and his Harvest Crusade draws tens of thousands every summer to hear the gospel. People proclaimed much like Billy Graham did in decades gone by in a baseball stadium. Greg Lori does that His conversion story, he was a convert disciple of Chuck Smith and his story is in the Jesus Revolution.

Based on a book by Ellen Vaughn If you’ve not seen The Jesus Revolution I highly recommend it. You can get it on Netflix or Amazon Prime or whatever your streaming service would be. It may cost you $23 to rent but it is well worth it. You can hear more in the video up above.
