A Solid Foundation from 115 Years Ago, Still Standing-September 17, 2024

Today’s video is about a solid foundation and its importance in life, business, and spiritual wellness. It’s a Tuesday, and I am Greg, your host for today’s My Rhymes and Reasons edition. I am greeting you from Poulsbo, Washington. This old home is in little Norway and here on Liberty Bay, tucked away behind a row of recently constructed condominiums. You can see it in the background; this home was built about 115 years ago. I have a connection to this home because my Norwegian immigrant grandfather and his four brothers built this home about 1909, shortly after they’d arrived in Kitsap County.

As far as we know, this is one of the first construction projects these Norwegian brothers, the Berkland Brothers, put their hearts and hands into. It’s still standing. Amazingly, the foundation of that home is so solid that all these years later, these amateur builders and what was created continue to stand. I think about the foundation of our lives when I look at what I’m connected to in this home. You can hear more about it in the video above.
