Welcome to our home. So Barry just got back from four days of a river trip. The last one of the year. Which means I had these four days alone in the house. I decided to watch Mother Teresa’s YouTube videos. It was a sweet. For example, when eating or at different times, I’d sit and watch these little videos. She’s always been such a hero. But I found people would ask her different questions, and the answer always came down to prayer. No matter what the question was. She would try and answer it, of course, in a beautiful way. But ultimately, prayer. So I thought that was just so beautiful.
So I wanted to tell you a little story about what happened to us 32 years ago. We’ve mentioned that we went through the earthquake, and our home was destroyed. This led to having three children who were dependent on us, so we had to have a home. We rented the destroyed house, which was not in such great shape. The rent was so small like it was hardly anything, and so we were that house was gone, and we were out into the world of rents.
So, we decided on buying a piece of land and build our home to finally fulfill our dream. We did that. This is the home. Well, that’s the wall of the living room. We have 16 acres, and it’s all courtesy of the earthquake because the price of the land dropped so low. Anyway, we built our house so that people could come here, we could do our workshops, and our children could have their lives.
There are many doors to the home. We didn’t anticipate the cost, and it was much more than we thought it would be. We were paying about $200 in rent, which was much more every month than we would have to pay for the mortgage. You can hear more about it in the video above.
