Tuesday Before Thanksgiving with Greg-My Rhymes and Reasons 11.26.24

It’s Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s My Rhymes and Reasons, this Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I’m here at the Ronald Reagan National Airport. We have a municipal airport just a few miles from Mercer Island, and I love this sculpture of this individual. His name is Clayton Scott, and he factors into Aviation here in the Pacific Northwest.

As you can see, there are mileage markers indicating that it’s 9,263 miles to Perth, Australia, 909 miles to Juno, Alaska, 130 miles to Vancouver, WA, 1,052 miles to San Diego, where my oldest daughter lives, and 7,760 Miles to Sydney, Australia.

Aviation is something that we can’t even imagine our world without. This week as we take time to thank God for the blessings in our lives. I hope you thank Him for technology and how Aviation has brought our world closer together.

Many years ago, aviation began to impact our culture and our world. It was about 25 years ago, or so my Norwegian grandmother was born. In her sweet, straightforward way, my Norwegian grandmother, Alga Bertina Watland Berkland, used to sing songs for our grandkids. Nata Burkland had a way of communicating musically. She had a harmonica harness…you can listen to more in the video above.

If you missed our last My Rhymes and Reasons, it is here.
