From Sixth and Valley Here on the South Slope of Queen Anne Hill
Hey, it’s Greg Asimakoupoulos from Sixth and Valley here on the south slope of Queen Anne Hill. In back of me at the intersection of Sixth and Valley is what used to be Christian Temple, the church I attended while a student at Seattle Pacific University.
55 years ago, Brother Ralph Sander and his wife Darlene were the pastors of this remarkable church. As I look back on those years, as I look back at this location, my heart is filled with wonderful memories.
One of which is that of brother Ralph bringing to Seattle and introducing to the Pacific Northwest the gospel music genius of Andre Crouch. Back in 1970, Andre had a group called the Disciples, Andre Crouch and the Disciples. They came to Seattle and they they sang in our church, our gospel choir of which I was a part. We sang with Andre. He taught us some of his music.
I can’t thank God enough for the blessing that Andre and his music and those memories made at this church. You can continue on the video at marker 1:22.
