What it Means to Be Left Behind

Join Greg as he talks about what it means to be left behind.

Hey, it’s Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. I’m here in a pumpkin patch that is leaving me a little bit bewildered.

You know, last week we enjoyed our Thanksgiving meals and for many of us, pumpkin pie was the star of the show.

I’m wondering though if pumpkin pie is not as popular as it used to be.

Did apple take control this year? Or maybe minced meat or pecan pie.

All these pumpkins left over unclaimed.

Kind of sad.

I don’t know if it was the weather that kept families from coming out to pick their pumpkin to carve for Halloween or to harvest for Thanksgiving dessert. I’m not sure.

But here on this beautiful sunny day, as we move into December, I am thinking about what it means to be left behind. Is that fair? Not chosen. If these pumpkins had personalities, would they be feeling rejected, unclaimed, unfit?

There’s a verse in the Isaiah chapter 43. (continue listening at marker 1:47 on the video)

If you missed our last My Rhymes and Reasons post, it is here.
