Greg Asimakoupoulos with today’s edition of My Rhymes and Reasons. You know, if this were snow coming down, we’d say it was snowing. But when leaves come down, do we say it’s leafing? Well, that might be an appropriate way to describe leaves in a fall, windstorm, letting go and falling to the ground. It sets up what I’d like to talk about today on this edition of My Rhymes and Reasons.

As once again, we look up that we might look forward to what this day has in store with a sense of God’s presence. Leaves that fall to the ground are exhibiting total surrender. Does that make sense? They have let go of that which has attached them to the branches to which they have been one. Here they come and the leaves fall to the ground.

I think we said a week or so ago that that’s what accounts for calling this season of autumn fall. I don’t know if that’s actually true or not, but it sure makes sense. And this poetic mind of mine likes to think of leaves falling. (You can continue at 1:31 on the video).

If you missed our last My Rhymes and Reasons post, it is here.
